FUADUNA: Jurnal Kajian Keagamaan dan Kemasyarakatan is a peer-reviewed and open-access scholarly journal published by Universitas Islam Negeri Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The journal maintains a regular biannual publication schedule to ensure the consistent dissemination of interdisciplinary scholarship on religion, society, culture, interreligious studies, theology, Islamic studies, philosophy, sociology, political science, gender studies, and related fields.

Section 01

Publication Frequency

FUADUNA is published twice a year, with two regular issues in each annual volume. The designated publication months are June for Issue No. 1 and December for Issue No. 2.

This publication structure is maintained to provide a predictable scholarly publishing cycle while allowing sufficient time for editorial screening, double-blind peer review, author revision, editorial decision-making, copyediting, layout preparation, metadata verification, and final publication.

Section 02

Regular Publication Schedule

Issue Editorial Period Designated Issue Month Frequency
No. 1 January–June June First issue of the annual volume
No. 2 July–December December Second issue of the annual volume
Important: The designated issue month represents the journal's regular publication cycle. The actual date on which an issue or article becomes available online is recorded separately in the OJS publishing system and should reflect the actual date of publication.
Section 03

Manuscript Submission and Editorial Processing

FUADUNA accepts manuscript submissions throughout the year through its official Open Journal Systems platform. Submission of a manuscript does not mean that it has been accepted or assigned to a particular issue.

Each submitted manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to assess its conformity with the journal's focus and scope, originality, scholarly contribution, methodological quality, manuscript preparation, ethical requirements, and compliance with the Author Guidelines.

Manuscripts that meet the initial editorial requirements proceed to a double-blind peer-review process involving at least two independent reviewers with relevant scholarly expertise. When necessary, an additional reviewer may be appointed before the final editorial decision is made.

Editorial Workflow
Submission  →  Initial Screening  →  Double-Blind Peer Review  →  Author Revision  →  Editorial Decision  →  Production  →  Publication
Section 04

Article Acceptance and Issue Assignment

A manuscript is considered for publication only after it has successfully completed the required editorial evaluation, peer-review process, revision stages, and final editorial assessment.

The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance rests with the Editor-in-Chief, taking into consideration the recommendations of the reviewers and, where necessary, consultation with the Associate Editors and Editorial Board.

Accepted manuscripts are assigned to an appropriate forthcoming issue by considering the date of acceptance, completion of editorial and production requirements, thematic relevance, balance of article content, geographical diversity of authors, and the journal's regular publication schedule.

Please note: Acceptance of a manuscript does not automatically guarantee publication in a specific issue. The Editor-in-Chief retains responsibility for the final scheduling and placement of accepted manuscripts.
Section 05

Publication Timeliness and Transparency

FUADUNA is committed to maintaining publication regularity, transparency, and accurate bibliographic records. The journal therefore distinguishes between the designated issue month and the actual online publication date.

Submission dates, revision dates, acceptance dates, and publication dates must represent the actual stages of the editorial process and should not be altered merely to conform to an issue label or scheduled publication month.

If an issue is made available online before or after its designated publication month, the actual online publication date recorded in the journal platform remains the authoritative publication record.

When exceptional editorial, technical, or operational circumstances materially affect the regular publication schedule, relevant information may be communicated through the journal's official announcements or website.
