Post-Publication Discussion & Corrections

Mechanisms for scholarly discussion, corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions after publication.

CorrectionsExpressions of ConcernRetractions

Publication is not the end of scholarly evaluation. FUADUNA supports responsible post-publication discussion and maintains mechanisms to correct the scholarly record when reliable evidence shows that a published article contains material error, incomplete disclosure, or serious integrity concerns.

Post-Publication Discussion

  • Readers may submit evidence-based comments, critiques, replication concerns, or requests for clarification to the editorial office.
  • Submissions should identify the article and DOI and explain the concern specifically and professionally.
  • Editors may invite the authors to respond and may seek independent expert advice where necessary.
  • Scholarly disagreement alone is not grounds for correction or retraction; actions depend on whether the reliability, interpretation, ethics, or integrity of the published record is materially affected.

Possible Editorial Actions

Correction

For an error that affects part of the article but does not invalidate its main findings.

Addendum

For important additional information that clarifies the published article without replacing it.

Expression of Concern

For unresolved serious concerns while an investigation is ongoing or evidence remains inconclusive.

Retraction

For findings that are unreliable because of major error or misconduct, serious ethical violations, plagiarism, or redundant publication.

Version of Record

FUADUNA does not make silent substantive changes to published articles. When a correction, expression of concern, or retraction is required, the original article remains identifiable and the notice is linked to the article and its DOI. Metadata should be updated where appropriate so that indexing and discovery services reflect the corrected status.

Author Responsibilities After Publication

  • Notify the editor promptly after discovering a significant error or omission in a published article.
  • Cooperate with reasonable requests for clarification, source verification, data documentation, or correction.
  • Do not attempt to remove legitimate critical discussion solely because it is unfavorable.
  • Inform the journal if a post-publication concern has been raised by an institution, funder, ethics body, or another journal and may affect the published work.
Policy note. This page should be read together with FUADUNA's Focus and Scope, Peer Review Process, Publication Ethics, Copyright and Licensing, and other applicable editorial policies. Where a conflict arises, the most recently approved journal policy applies.
