PRESERVATION

Archiving and Digital Preservation

Backup, preservation, and continuity of access
The journal combines distributed preservation with operational backup and repository rights to reduce the risk of permanent loss of scholarly content.

Digital preservation strategy

Islam Realitas uses distributed digital-preservation services to support long-term access to published content. The journal currently identifies the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) and LOCKSS as preservation mechanisms. These systems are intended to preserve journal content beyond the availability of a single web server or OJS installation.

Operational backup

Digital preservation does not replace operational backup. The Publisher/Rumah Jurnal should maintain regular backups of the OJS application, database, uploaded files, configuration, and relevant publication records, with protected copies stored separately from the production server and periodically tested for restoration.

Repository deposit and author archiving

Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the published version of their articles in institutional or subject repositories and other lawful archives in accordance with the journal's Open Access, Copyright, and Licensing policies. DOI and citation metadata should be retained so deposited copies remain connected to the version of record.

Preserving corrections and retractions

Preservation must include the integrity history of the record. Correction notices, retraction notices, expressions of concern, and updated metadata should be preserved and linked with the affected articles. A retracted article remains in the archive with clear retraction marking rather than being silently deleted.
