About the Journal

HuRuf Journal: International Journal of Arabic Applied Linguistics is a scholarly, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal dedicated to advancing research and scholarly discussion in Arabic applied linguistics. The journal publishes original empirical research and conceptual articles that contribute to the development and application of linguistic theories, approaches, methods, and findings in relation to Arabic language learning and teaching, language acquisition, assessment, language use, translation and interpreting, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, corpus and computational linguistics, Arabic for Specific Purposes, Qur’anic Arabic linguistics, and technology-enhanced language studies, including Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). HuRuf Journal welcomes manuscripts written in Arabic or English and encourages interdisciplinary studies in which Arabic language and applied linguistic issues constitute the primary focus of inquiry. All manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening, similarity checking, and a double-blind peer-review process to ensure originality, methodological rigor, scholarly relevance, and compliance with research and publication ethics. As an open-access journal, HuRuf Journal is committed to making published research freely accessible to the global academic community and to promoting the wider dissemination and exchange of knowledge in Arabic applied linguistics.
