About the Journal
USRATY : Journal of Islamic Family Law is a scientific law journal focused on studies in the field of Contemporary Islamic law. It aims to actualize and contribute to the advancement of a deeper understanding of Contemporary Islamic law through the publication of articles and research reports. Usraty encompasses a broad range of research topics related to Islamic family law in contemporary contexts, including contemporary marriage law, inheritance law, testament law, divorce law, and marital property law. The journal also welcomes studies on contemporary childcare law, women and children's rights law, family rights and obligations law, waqf law, and gender equality law. Through these themes, USRATY seeks to facilitate scholarly discourse that bridges classical Islamic legal principles with modern societal developments and challenges.
USRATY : Journal of Islamic Family Law is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the Sharia Faculty of Universitas Islam Negeri Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The journal welcomes original research articles and conceptual papers addressing both classical and contemporary issues in Islamic jurisprudence and legal philosophy (see Focus and Scope). Publications are issued biannually, in June and December.
Since its establishment in 2023, USRATY has strived to become a platform for critical and constructive engagement in Islamic legal thought. In 2023, the journal began publication through the Open Journal System (OJS) and became registered with Crossref, ensuring each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for long-term citation and access. The journal is also indexed by Google Scholar, Moraref, Garuda, and See More.
