Article Processing Charges

Al-Jamahiria: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Dakwah Islam is an open-access journal. All published articles are freely and permanently available to readers without subscription or access charges.

To support sustainable journal management and high-quality publication services, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applied only to manuscripts that have successfully completed the peer-review process and have been formally accepted for publication.

Article Processing Charge IDR 750,000 plus a three-digit unique payment code

The three-digit unique code is assigned individually to each accepted manuscript and is stated in the official invoice. The code is used solely to identify and verify the author's payment.

For example, when an author receives the unique code 347, the exact amount to be transferred is IDR 750,347. If the assigned code is 025, the payable amount is IDR 750,025.

The unique code is not an additional publication charge. Authors must transfer the exact amount stated in the official invoice to facilitate payment verification.

What Does the APC Cover?

The Article Processing Charge supports the following publication services:

  • Initial editorial screening and manuscript administration;
  • Management of the double-blind peer-review process;
  • Similarity checking and publication ethics screening;
  • Editorial processing, copyediting, and technical editing;
  • Article layout, typesetting, and proof preparation;
  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registration and metadata deposit;
  • Online publication and immediate open-access availability;
  • Digital preservation and long-term article archiving;
  • Journal platform maintenance and metadata dissemination; and
  • Administrative and technical support during the publication process.

Payment Procedure

  1. Authors are not required to make any payment during manuscript submission or peer review.
  2. After the manuscript has been formally accepted, the corresponding author will receive an official Letter of Acceptance and APC invoice by email.
  3. The invoice will specify the APC, the three-digit unique payment code, the exact payment amount, payment deadline, and official bank account.
  4. Authors must transfer the exact amount stated in the invoice.
  5. Proof of payment must be submitted through the payment confirmation form or official journal email indicated in the invoice.
  6. The manuscript will proceed to copyediting, layout, and publication after payment has been verified.

Editorial Independence

Payment of the APC does not guarantee manuscript acceptance and does not influence editorial or peer-review decisions. All manuscripts are evaluated solely on their originality, methodological quality, academic contribution, relevance to the journal's scope, and compliance with publication ethics.

The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board retain full authority over all editorial decisions, regardless of the author's ability or willingness to pay the publication fee.

Refund and Withdrawal Policy

The APC is generally non-refundable once payment has been verified and the article has entered the production process, including copyediting, layout, typesetting, DOI registration, or online publication.

Refunds may only be considered in exceptional circumstances, including:

  • Duplicate payments;
  • An incorrect transfer amount confirmed by the journal;
  • A payment made as a result of an incorrect official invoice; or
  • Failure to publish the article due to an error attributable to the publisher.

No refund will be provided when an accepted manuscript is withdrawn at the author's request after payment or when an article is retracted because of research misconduct, plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or other violations of publication ethics.

Payment Security

Authors must make payments only to the official bank account stated in the invoice issued by the journal. The journal does not authorize editors, reviewers, agents, or third parties to collect APC payments through personal accounts.

Authors should not make any payment before receiving an official acceptance decision and invoice. Any suspicious payment request should be confirmed directly with the journal's official editorial office.

Bank and Transaction Charges

Any bank transfer fees, currency conversion costs, or other transaction charges imposed by the author's bank are the author's responsibility. The journal must receive the full amount stated in the official invoice.
