Al-Hurriyah: Jurnal Hukum Islam is a refereed religious studies journal that aims to comprehensively integrate dimensions of Islamic law conventionally regarded as separate and strengthen the efficiency of human intellectual progress. Al-Hurriyah: Jurnal Hukum Islam is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Sharia, Universitas Islam Negeri Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, Indonesia.

The journal publishes research articles and conceptual articles in the field of Islamic law. The articles of this journal are published two times a year, in June and December.

Since its initial publication in 2003 in printed form under the name Al-Hurriyah, the journal changed its name in 2016 to Al-Hurriyah: Jurnal Hukum Islam and has been managed through the Open Journal System or OJS. The journal has also been registered with Crossref, and all published articles have DOI numbers.

Al-Hurriyah: Jurnal Hukum Islam is indexed by SINTA, Google Scholar, Moraref, and Garuda.

In 2022, Al-Hurriyah: Jurnal Hukum Islam was reaccredited by the Decree of the General Director of Strengthening Research and Development, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 204/E/KPT/2022. This reaccreditation is effective for publication Vol. 3 No. 2, 2019 ( SINTA 3 ).
