Al-Hurriyah: Jurnal Hukum Islam is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Sharia, Universitas Islam Negeri Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, Indonesia. The journal is dedicated to disseminating high-quality research conducted by scholars, academics, researchers, and practitioners in the field of Islamic law. The journal is published biannually, with two issues released each year, covering the periods of January–June and July–December.

Since its initial publication in 2003 in printed form under the name Al-Hurriyah, the journal changed its name in 2016 to Al-Hurriyah: Jurnal Hukum Islam and has been managed through the Open Journal System or OJS. The journal has also been registered with Crossref, and all published articles have DOI numbers.

This journal enthusiastically welcomes submissions from scholars and researchers in related fields who wish to contribute to advancing academic discourse. As a platform committed to maintaining excellence in academic publishing, we prioritize originality, methodological rigor, and scholarly significance in every manuscript we review. We are proud to announce that Al-Hurriyah: Jurnal Hukum Islam was reaccredited as a SINTA 3 journal under the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Number 204/E/KPT/2022, applicable to publications beginning with Volume 3, Number 2 (2019). Continuing its commitment to improving academic quality and editorial excellence, the journal published Volume 10, Number 1 (2025) before being upgraded to SINTA 2 under the Decree of the Director General of Science and Technology, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Number 355/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026, concerning the New Accreditation Rankings of Scientific Journals for Period 3 of 2025. These achievements reflect our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of academic quality, editorial integrity, and international visibility, positioning Al-Hurriyah: Jurnal Hukum Islam as a trusted and influential journal in the field of Islamic legal studies.

To ensure an efficient editorial process, authors are expected to comply with the journal's submission guidelines, formatting requirements, and publication ethics. Manuscripts that fail to meet these requirements may be returned for revision prior to peer review. The Editorial Board sincerely invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to publish their best research in Al-Hurriyah: Jurnal Hukum Islam and to contribute to strengthening global academic discourse on Islamic law through innovative, impactful, and internationally recognized scholarship.
