Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript submitted is an original work, has not been published, and is not currently under review or in the process of being published in another journal. If there are special circumstances, an explanation has been included in the Comments for the Editor section.

  • The manuscript file is submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • The manuscript has been prepared in accordance with the guidelines, templates, and writing requirements applicable to this journal, including compliance with the style and reference writing system as stated in the Author Guidelines in the About the Journal menu.

  • All author identities (names, affiliations, and email addresses) have been listed completely and correctly, and have been confirmed and approved by each author. It is not permitted to include the names of other parties without real contribution to the writing of the manuscript, including the practice of including authors for administrative or reputational purposes.

  • For manuscripts that undergo a peer-review process, the author has ensured that the author's identity is not included in the main manuscript file to guarantee a blind review process.

  • The reference list has been written using a reference management application (Mendeley Desktop) in accordance with the citation style specified by the journal, and each reference has been provided with a URL or DOI (if available and accessible).

  • The authors declare their willingness to pay the publication fee (Article Processing Charge/APC) in accordance with the provisions applicable to this journal.

  • If it is later discovered that the manuscript is being or has been processed or published in another journal, or that there has been a violation of publication ethics, the author is willing to accept administrative sanctions and/or fines in accordance with the journal's applicable policies.

  • The authors have conducted a plagiarism check and AI-detection screening prior to submission. The similarity index does not exceed 20%. The official screening reports must be uploaded to the Upload File section as supporting documents.

Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

Humanisma : Journal of Gender Studies Brief submission guideline:

  1. Manuscripts can be either research-based paper or conceptual paper on gender and child topics that have been formatted to meet the general writing standards of the scientific journal articles.
  2. Articles should be original, research-based, unpublished and not under review for possible publication in other journals.
  3. Manuscript should be typed in MS document format with Garamond, size 12 pts, one and a half space, A4 paper roughly 12 to 20 pages. The manuscript needs to be submitted online to Humanisma website through the Open Journal System (OJS) at website: https://ejournal.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/index.php/psga 
  4. The article should be written in Indonesia, English or Arabic. The title of the article is written not more than 16 words. The title of the article, the name of its author or authors, email address, and institution are at the top of the article.
  5. All submissions must include 100-200 words abstract and 3-5 keywords. The abstract of the research paper should contain title, purpose and method, and research finding, and conclusion. Meanwhile, the abstract of non-research paper includes the title, purpose, discussion, and conclusion.
  6. Quotations, passages, and words in local or foreign languages should be translated into English.
  7. Full research papers have broad relevance and contribute something new to Gender and child. It includes:
    • Background: to explain the theoretical background, related research, the practical applications and the nature and purpose of the article.
    • Results (findings) and Discussion: Results should be clear and concise. Discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.
    • Conclusion: The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short conclusions section, which may stand alone or form a subsection of a discussion or results and discussion section.
    • References: References are listed in alphabetical order. Each listed reference is cited in the text, and Non-research papers include major theme, logical development of the theme, author's point of view, implications, inferences, or conclusions.
  8. References and notes should be managed using Mendeley Reference Management with Chicago Style and should be written alphabetically as follows:

  9. All submitted papers are subject to a review of the editors, editorial board, and blind reviewers.
  10. The editors reserve the right to reject manuscripts that are not in accordance with this guideline.

  12. Author of articles published will receive free one copy of the journal and ten off-prints.
