Modality Journal: International Journal of Linguistics and Literature (e-ISSN: 2798-0723 | p-ISSN: 2798-1258) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the State Islamic University (UIN) Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, managed by the English Education Study Program. The journal is issued biannually in June and December and is dedicated to publishing high-quality scholarly works in the fields of linguistics and literature. It welcomes original research articles, book reviews, theoretical analyses, and scientific commentaries. The journal covers a wide range of topics, including linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax, discourse analysis, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and critical discourse analysis), literature (Indonesian literature, regional literature, world literature, and children’s literature), as well as applied linguistics topics such as language education, lexicography, stylistics, translation studies, clinical linguistics, and interdisciplinary linguistic studies.
All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous selection process through a double-blind peer review system, ensuring that both author and reviewer identities remain anonymous to maintain impartiality and scholarly integrity. Each manuscript is independently reviewed by at least two reviewers, and when necessary, a third reviewer may be assigned prior to the final editorial decision. Submissions are accepted exclusively via the online submission system to ensure efficiency and transparency. Modality Journal operates under an open access policy, allowing anyone to freely read, download, copy, distribute, print, or cite published articles with proper attribution under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). The journal is indexed in several national and international databases, including SINTA, Google Scholar, Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital), and Dimensions, and each article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure permanent and reliable access in digital academic environments.
