Empowerment Counseling Journal is a refereed academic journal that focuses on advancing scholarly discourse in the field of guidance and counseling, particularly in the areas of empowerment, educational psychology, mental health, and socio-emotional development in diverse educational and cultural settings. The journal seeks to provide a platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to explore innovative strategies and theoretical insights that enhance the effectiveness of counseling practices in promoting individual and communal well-being.

Empowerment Counseling Journal is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Training, Universitas Islam Negeri Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, Indonesia. The journal publishes empirical research articles, theoretical studies, and best practices related to counseling services, guidance models, and educational interventions with a focus on empowerment and character development (see Focus and Scope). Articles are published twice a year, in June and December.

Since its establishment in 2025, Empowerment Counseling Journal has maintained a commitment to quality publication and academic contribution in the field of educational and counseling sciences. In 2025, the journal adopted the Open Journal System (OJS) and registered with Crossref, assigning DOI to every published article to ensure long-term accessibility and citation. The journal is indexed by Google Scholar, Moraref, Garuda and See More.
