Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya MGMP dalam mendukung pengembangan profesionalisme guru dan inovasi dalam pendidikan, namun seringkali menghadapi berbagai hambatan dalam efektivitasnya. Maka, penelitian ini bertujuan menjawab pertanyaan bagaimana peran, pengorganisasian, dan pelaksanaan MGMP dapat ditingkatkan serta menemukan solusi untuk hambatan-hambatan yang ada. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada fokus analisis komprehensif terhadap MGMP di wilayah Bukittinggi dan Agam, Sumatera Barat, dengan penekanan pada pemecahan masalah dan penyusunan strategi peningkatan efektivitas MGMP. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif studi kasus dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode Miles and Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan jadwal guru, kurangnya dukungan kepala sekolah, dan keterbatasan dana dan fasilitas adalah hambatan utama dalam efektivitas MGMP. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengusulkan beberapa solusi untuk tantangan tersebut, seperti penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran modern seperti blended learning dan mendapatkan dukungan finansial dari lembaga eksternal. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pandangan yang lebih mendalam tentang bagaimana MGMP dapat berfungsi dengan lebih efektif dan efisien dalam menunjang pendidikan di wilayah tersebut

 

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of MGMP in supporting the development of teacher professionalism and innovation in education, but often faces various obstacles in its effectiveness. So, this research aims to answer the question of how the role, organization and implementation of MGMP can be improved and find solutions to existing obstacles. The novelty of this research lies in the focus of a comprehensive analysis of MGMP in the Bukittinggi and Agam regions, West Sumatra, with an emphasis on problem solving and developing strategies to increase the effectiveness of MGMP. The methodology used in this research is a qualitative case study with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman method. The research results show that differences in teacher schedules, lack of support from school principals, and limited funds and facilities are the main obstacles to the effectiveness of MGMP. Apart from that, this research also proposes several solutions to these challenges, such as the application of modern learning approaches such asblended learning and obtain financial support from external institutions. It is hoped that these results will provide a more in-depth view of how MGMP can function more effectively and efficiently in supporting education in the region.
