Abstract

This community service aims to explore student career maturity through structured group guidance activities. This service is focused on developing self-awareness, understanding career options, developing decision-making skills, and long-term career planning. This service method uses Participatory Action Research (PAR) involving 12 Padang State University guidance and counseling students as active participants in each stage of activity, namely diagnosis of problems and/or needs, action planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results of this research-based service explore career maturity which developed significantly in various aspects of career maturity after participating in group guidance activities. Aspects of career maturity are developing rapidly, including; self-understanding, career information, effective decision-making abilities, and more mature career planning. Apart from that, students admit that their self-confidence and readiness to face future career challenges are increasingly optimal. This service program to assist students' career maturity through group guidance is worthy of implementation.

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kematangan karir siswa melalui kegiatan bimbingan kelompok yang terstruktur. Pengabdian ini berfokus pada pengembangan kesadaran diri, pemahaman tentang pilihan karir, pengembangan keterampilan pengambilan keputusan, dan perencanaan karir jangka panjang. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang melibatkan 12 mahasiswa bimbingan dan konseling Universitas Negeri Padang sebagai peserta aktif di setiap tahap kegiatan, yaitu diagnosis masalah dan/atau kebutuhan, perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari pengabdian berbasis penelitian ini mengeksplorasi kematangan karir yang berkembang secara signifikan dalam berbagai aspek setelah mengikuti kegiatan bimbingan kelompok. Aspek-aspek kematangan karir yang berkembang pesat meliputi pemahaman diri, informasi karir, kemampuan pengambilan keputusan yang efektif, dan perencanaan karir yang lebih matang. Selain itu, siswa mengakui bahwa kepercayaan diri dan kesiapan mereka untuk menghadapi tantangan karir di masa depan semakin optimal.
