http://ejournal.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/index.php/islamt/article/view/8369

This research aims to explore the conception of magic and amulets during the time of Abdul Karim Amrullah, both in terms of concept and practice in Minangkabau. Magic and amulets are distinct aspects but closely related in Minangkabau culture. In the past, shamans primarily controlled magic, while amulets, as countermeasures, were held by tarekat scholars. Over time, with the integration of custom and Islam in Minangkabau's philosophy "adat bersendi syara' and syara' bersendi kitabullah," there was a shift in expertise between magic and amulets. Both became skills possessed by both shamans and scholars. Subsequent developments showed a decline in magic practitioners, with some even becoming scholars. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. There are three main questions addressed in this article: first, how did magic and amulets emerge in Minangkabau; second, what is the depiction of the development of magic and amulets in Minangkabau; third, what is Abdul Karim Amrullah's conception of magic and amulets in Minangkabau. According to Abdul Karim Amrullah, magic, and amulets are practices that corrupt faith and can lead to polytheism. The proliferation of magic and amulets in the past was due to the rigid and fatalistic interpretation of "qudrah" by the Minangkabau society.
Fauzan FauzanHelfi HelfiFajrul WadiDahyul Daipon

http://ejournal.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/index.php/islamt/article/view/8422

Holistic nursing includes spiritual care, which benefits nurses' spiritual health and patients' healing. However, despite integrating Islamic spirituality into the nursing curriculum, there is a gap between previous research findings and feedback from student practice fields regarding the suboptimal spiritual care provided by UIN Syarif Hidayatullah nursing students. This study aims to explore the experiences of newly graduated Muslim nurses in terms of readiness for spiritual care. The study used a qualitative approach involving fourteen informants, including eight newly graduated nurses. Thematic analysis was conducted through transcription, coding, and theme formation. Seven themes were identified: (1) perceptions of spiritual care; (2) readiness and ability (mental, physical, psychological, social, spiritual); (3) experiences; (4) benefits of spiritual care; (5) success and hindrance factors; (6) efforts to improve spiritual care; and (7) the role of nursing education. There is a need for habituation in nursing education before graduation and the enhancement of spiritual care among newly graduated Muslim nurses to improve reflection in nursing care.
Dwi SetiowatiHasani Ahmad Said

http://ejournal.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/index.php/islamt/article/view/8421

Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project, known as P5, is a new solution to build valuable students' characters. This study analyzes how P5 was implemented in schools to conquer character decadency in the disruptive era. This study used a qualitative research design to collect the data and a triangulation test to validate the data. The research data was collected in three elementary schools in Bengkulu City. The findings indicate that P5 is running well at the sample schools by looking at several indicators, such as the policy, program, and implementation of P5. Based on the data, the schools accepted and implemented P5 to swamped character decadence in the period of disruption well, allowing it to be socialized and applied as needed. However, every school has successfully utilized P5 techniques to overthrow character decadence in the disruptive era. Despite the challenges and limitations associated with its implementation, the principal has the ability to mitigate these issues. The principal and educators hope the school can best apply P5 to combating character decadence in the disruptive period, making it more advantageous for the larger community.
Mindani MindaniNova AsvioAsmara Yumarni

http://ejournal.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/index.php/islamt/article/view/8333

The existence of hardline Islam in Indonesia has changed the shocking Islamic culture without violence and has presented an attitude of extreme and radical actions. This research is studied through a qualitative approach with library research. The purpose of this research is to suggest Indonesian hardliner Islam and the government respond to every hardliner maneuver not equated with handling terrorists with a pattern of shot to kill. Therefore, the problem-solving of Indonesian hardliner Islam is resolved by Galtung-style conflict resolution with a “positive peace” step. The results of the research reveal that Indonesian hardline Islam cannot be equated with hardline Islamic movements in other Muslim countries that are similar to the Taliban style or terrorist movements. Most Indonesian hardline Islam is treason, extortion, and undermining against Pancasila by imposing the value of sharia as an effort in “shariatization” so that their movements contradict the highest state regulations that they fall into actions in the criminal category.

NurkhalisMarhaban

http://ejournal.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/index.php/islamt/article/view/8519

This study aims to analyze the role of Arabic as a foreign language in strengthening the religious identity of Muslims as a social group. Previous studies indicate that religious identity can shift due to various factors, with religious understanding being the most influential. From the Islamic perspective, the Qur'an, regarded as the holy scripture and written in Arabic, serves as the primary source of Islamic teachings. Thus, proficiency in Arabic is considered a crucial factor in shaping Islamic identity. However, previous research has not thoroughly examined how Arabic strengthens Muslim religious identity from a sociological viewpoint. This study employs a qualitative method through literature review, focusing on Minangkabau's history as a case of socio-cultural acceptance of Islam. The analysis is conducted using William H. Sewell Jr.'s theory of social transformation. The findings reveal that Arabic plays a central role as a resource in Minangkabau's social transformation, particularly in the formation and reinforcement of Muslim religious identity at the social level.
Isral Naska
